Itinerary

Tours are typically out of Banana River Park, a waterfront park with ideal bioluminescence viewing in the evening, and very convenient access to the major highways in and out of town.Â All tours start at twilight and last for 1.5hrs. Afterwards, some enjoy swimming around in the water.Â We have a very easy beach-style launch area, so walking into and out of the water is no problem at all.Â We provide everything including the kayaks of your choice, paddles, life vests, and glow sticks. Things you can bring include bottled water, headlamp or small flashlight, and a towel to wipe off with afterwards.Â These tours are about fun, we all enjoy ourselves.Â It is not a high stress environment, rather it is relaxed, casual, and flexible.Â Â

This is a marine environment, the water is salty.Â It is relatively shallow and the water is safe to swim in.Â There are no alligators, no threatening critters of any kind.Â If you wish to bring anything at all for your protection, a pair of water shoes for walking into and around the shoreline is all we would suggest,Â The guides are typically barefoot though.Â

We expect all adult guests to possess entry-level paddling skills. There will not be a paddling "lesson" provided on this tour.
Any kids that disrupt the tour may result in an escort back to the launch site where your group's tour will be terminated. We do not interrupt other guests enjoyment over a fussy kid.

Coolest thing I’ve ever done, didn’t know something like this even existed. Tour guide Mark was AWESOME. 10/10 recommend.

This was an awesome experience! We are first time kayaker so our guide made sure we were safe and comfortable. The bio luminous water was magical. I have never seen anything like it! Definitely a memorable experience!

This was truly something everyone should do! The luminescence was something i had never seen before. The guide was great- he explained all the different types and their differences. Also seen manatee. I wasn't ready to get off the water at the end.

I contacted A1A Beach Rentals about hosting a charity fundraiser and was very impressed about their enthusiasm to help. I was able to book 17 people for the nighttime Bio Kayak tour and our whole group had a really great time. Our guides were friendly, helpful and even joined in with our zany fun. Sadly, the intensity of the bioluminescence was faint, but this is nature which cannot be controlled. We were able to see it with our own eyes and even with being dim, everyone in the group said they would do it again! Thanks to all for a great fundraiser and helping us create memories.
